It is indeed our hope that their stories will motivate more young people to look at the community around them and question what they can contribute as well. We need to do more to include and involve young people on top of ensuring that they have every opportunity to do good because they are our agents for the future.
The Young Changemakers is a celebration of young people who are making social impact through initiatives and projects that they've started within their communites. It's like creating a community of superheroes, whom we now call young changemakers. The Tuanku Bainun Young Changemakers Awards recognise these young changemakers to enable their stories to be heard and inspire other children to change the world.
We think Malaysia is in dire need of inspiring positive stories and only these children can assure us that the nation will be in good hands. So partners like WOMEN:girls, Pusat Kreatif Kanak-Kanak Tuanku Bainun, UN Children's Fund (UNICEF), Digi Telecommunications Sdn. Bhd. and Ministry of Education came together to jointly collaborate and conceptualise this search for amazing children in Malaysia that have been doing amazing exemplary things in and for their society.
Young Changemakers is a search for Malaysian Citizen aged 6 to 15 years old who have been contributing or causing a positive impact to their direct society/environment through social causes, the environment, academic, sports and life challenges.
